Compliance & Risk Officer (FinTech)

POSITION: We are looking for a hands-on compliance and risk manager with a thorough understanding of a Luxembourg ‘Support PFS’ company’s challenges that provides FinTech/RegTech products and platforms to more than a hundred regulated and/or institutional clients, who will handle the company’s compliance tasks and matters such as client onboarding and monitoring, contribution to compliance and risk policies and procedure definitions and monitoring their use, deal with auditors and implement their recommendations, advise our management and staff, and contribute to product definitions and validations for our KYC, bank compliance and other RegTech products. You will report directly to the company’s co-founders.

 

YOU: You should have a valid (min. 3 years) experience working in or with players in the financial industry and an in-depth knowledge of compliance and risk challenges and practices in the Luxembourg market, ideally from a Support PFS/FinTech/tech provider angle. A good understanding of processes, business models and setups for digital products and services in the financial industry would be quite helpful. A product/business-driven mindset seeking, understanding and promoting (digital) process improvements would be an excellent asset for this position, as we expect you to contribute to our RegTech products.

With us you will…

  • Handle compliance matters of the company: you will be the go-to person for compliance and risk topics and issues, reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer. This means that you’ll have to manage, improve and maintain the company’s compliance and risk framework, policies and procedures, with the help of the company’s legal, information security, operations and other relevant functions and departments. You’ll also handle client due diligence, requesting KYC information, documentation, review and verification of received documentation, you’ll run analytical risk assessments on new clients and you’ll also carry out KYC/AML reviews. You’ll monitor the adequacy and effectiveness of the company’s compliance and risk measures, policies and procedures as well and follow-up up on remedy actions. You’ll implement recommendations of internal auditors, you’ll take part in the drafting of the Risk Assessment Report and other reporting documents, as well as policies and procedures and you’ll advise and assist company management on compliance matters. You’ll be in charge of the company’s regulatory watch on relevant topics and you’ll advise and train staff members on AML matters. You’ll also take part in partner and supplier monitoring as well as in the implementation of outsourcing frameworks and agreements.
  • Contribute to RegTech product definition and architecture : you’ll contribute to and advise on Finologee’s RegTech products (mainly AML/KYC, but also PSD2, CEDRS and others), on their specifications, assessments, monitoring and evolution, focusing on the client’s perspective. You’ll also help with analyses on products implementations and adaptations to clients’ needs as well as the adequacy to relevant regulation and policies.

What we expect from you…

  • At least 3 years relevant experience, typically with an audit firm, a consultancy, a FinTech company or with a (technical) service provider to the financial industry
  • An in-depth knowledge of compliance and risk matters, procedures, best practices, regulation, challenges and evolutions in the Luxembourg financial industry regulatory context
  • A fair knowledge of the Support PFS particularities with regards to compliance and risk-related challenges (such as IT security and outsourcing setups) and their management would be a bonus
  • A business school, IT, engineering or law degree (Bachelor or Master) or an equivalent experience
  • A good understanding and a genuine curiosity for FinTech/RegTech products and topics as well as digitisation challenges in the financial industry and its impact on business models and ecosystems
  • To be at ease in English and to have (at least) a good command of French
