DevOps & Site Reliability Lead Engineer

With us you will:

• Manage the DevOps & SRE team: Lead the DevOps & SRE team, supporting team members and ensuring the successful execution of their projects and operations. Lead the DevOps & SRE engineers on the sizing of DevOps & Infrastructure tasks. Collaborate with DevOps & SRE engineers to solve technical and design problems. Own and improve the scalability and reliability of all Finologee systems, products, and services. Work directly with architecture and software engineering teams to build automated scalability and reliability into all technology initiatives up front rather than bolting it on at ‘go live’. Work collaboratively with the development, testing and operational teams.
• Support platform operations, ensure platform stability, assist with incidents, and maintain platform SLAs: Ensure the reliability of the existing systems to guarantee uptime and availability of core foundational services and building out our security capabilities. Identify pain points, suggesting a strategy on how to tackle them and leading the team towards the solution. Help architect and administer our hybrid cloud Kubernetes clusters (AWS EKS and Kubernetes as a service). Setup and maintain the CI & CD pipelines to deploy dockerized applications on Kubernetes using Harness. Tackle issues across the entire stack (hardware, software, network and application). Instrument systems for observability and supportability. Performing analysis, troubleshooting, and introspection on core infrastructure components and handle incident response. Provide daily support for all operational technology issues, security vulnerabilities and patches (applications, cloud infrastructure and Kubernetes). Taking part in a 24×7 on-call rotation.
• Define platform DevOps & Reliability Engineering standards: Design and develop new automation solutions to infrastructure problems (CI/CD, Disaster Recovery, …). Design automation frameworks to support the platform products. Helping drive standardization efforts across Finologee. Partnering with teams from across Finologee to help tackle hard problems. Constantly research new technology and techniques that will benefit the team, the company, and its clients. Be able to drive evaluations and contribute to decision making processes around tools and vendor software selection. Develop workable implementation plans; communicate changes effectively; build commitment and overcomes resistance; prepare and supports those affected by change; monitor transition and evaluates results.
• Leverage DevSecOps automation principles to ensure the security and compliance of our trusted products and platforms: Embed automated security controls and processes into the DevOps workflow. Apply Security-as-Code principles building security into DevOps tools and practices, leveraging Continuous Delivery as the control backbone and the automation engine for security and compliance. Propose, integrate, and deploy the appropriate automated application security analysis & testing tools (i.e. secure design, secure coding, security testing in CI/CD, securing the infrastructure and the cloud, security in production). Deploy Compliance-as-Code principles to embed compliance into DevOps and provide a centrally managed way to check and enforce security and compliance policies continuously and automatically (through automated penetration tests for example).

What we expect from you:

• You should have a computer science or business degree
• At least 8 years relevant experience, typically in the field of core infrastructure engineering experience spanning physical and virtualized servers, storage and network and more recent focus on public clouds, container and orchestration and platforms, i.e. Docker and Kubernetes, and CI/CD tooling, ideally in the financial services sector
• A previous role as a team leader or development team manager and a real appetite for people management
• A passion for modern technologies and a drive for continuous improvement of hard and soft skills
• A tenacity in problem solving and conducting research internally and externally to find solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Remains calm in a fast-paced work environment.
• Demonstrates thoughtful leadership in assessing problems and opportunities.
• To be fluent in English and to have (at least) a good command of French
